A global community building the future of care in space.
Founded in 1991, the Space Nursing Society unites nurses, researchers, and advocates committed to transforming healthcare for humans beyond Earth.

Who We Are

Driven by a bold calling
The Space Nursing Society is driven by a bold calling: to redefine healthcare for humans living and working in off-world and extreme environments.
As humanity expands beyond Earth, the role of nursing must evolve with it. We envision a future where nurses and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals work collaboratively to support optimal health in space, addressing not only physical needs, but the full human experience.
We are a global network of nurses, healthcare professionals, researchers, and advocates committed to transforming Earth-based healthcare models into systems that can sustain life beyond our planet. At the forefront of this emerging field, we are developing educational programs, strategic partnerships, and innovative resources to meet the complex healthcare challenges of space exploration.
From advancing clinical practice to supporting cutting-edge research, our work spans the present and the future of healthcare in space. Together, we are building a collaborative, global community dedicated to shaping how care is delivered in the most extraordinary environments imaginable.
