Linda Plush

Linda Plush, MSN, FNP-C, FRSH


Linda Plush is a Family Nurse Practitioner with subspecialties in adult care and nephrology. In addition to her U.S. degrees and certifications, she is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Health (UK). Linda has long combined her passion for healthcare, exploration, and human performance in extreme environments through both clinical practice and aerospace medicine initiatives.


Her lifelong interests include aviation, diving, and space medicine. She is a former student pilot and a PADI-certified Open Water Diver. Linda maintains an active focus on microgravity and healthcare challenges associated with humans living and working in off-world and other extreme environments.


Linda is a LIFE Member of both the Aerospace Medical Association and the Aerospace Nurses Association, and was previously a student member of the American Society for Gravitational and Space Biology. She served as the Founding President of the Space Nursing Society from 1991–1994 and remains deeply involved in advancing the role of nursing and healthcare in space exploration. She is also a Founding Member of the Rogerian Scholars and a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing.


Throughout her career, Linda has contributed extensively to aerospace and healthcare publications. Her work has appeared in the National Space Society’s Ad Astra magazine and the Space Nursing Society newsletter, Expanding Horizons, where she has written on topics related to space medicine and human health in extreme environments. She has also served as a Topic Coordinator for Life Support & Biosphere Science and as a member of the Editorial Board for the Journal of Human Performance in Extreme Environments.


Linda has presented internationally, including at the 14th IAA Humans in Space Symposium in Banff, Alberta, Canada, and has appeared as a guest speaker on The Space Show. In addition, she has served as Co-Chair for multiple space medicine tracks at the National Space Society’s International Space Development Conferences.


She became the first advanced practice nurse invited to participate on NASA Johnson Space Center’s Therapeutics and Clinical Care Integrated Product Team, an honorary advisory panel focused on operational medical issues for long-duration spaceflight. This work led to her invitation to join the Advanced Projects Team at NASA-JSC, where she collaborated with scientists and flight personnel on topics including clinical management, pharmacotherapeutics, telemedicine, wound care, emerging medical technologies, and healthcare systems for future human space exploration.


Beyond her aerospace contributions, Linda has owned and operated both a healthcare consulting business and a mobile acute dialysis team. She is currently a partner and owner of a chronic
